Meet Information

The Iowa Association of Track Coaches is pleased to announce the 2018 Senior All-Star Cross Country Race. We look forward to celebrating the achievements of our Iowa Seniors. This race is designed to bring the best Seniors from the state of Iowa together to compete and fellowship. Please take some time to consider taking part. It is a simple process:

  1. Coaches, nominate athletes who have met the criteria (See next section)
  2. Show up on Saturday November 3rd for a memorable race!

Qualified athletes that run that day receive a free t-shirt, bag, and water bottle!

Oh yeah…then they will need to come to the race on November 3th for a great event!

Essential Information

Meet Date: Saturday, November 3, 2018
Meet Location: Des Moines Area Community College, Ankeny

Time Event
9:30 a.m. All-Stars and Open Race Check-in
10:30 a.m. – All-Star Introductions
– Open 5K (following intros) – Approximately 10:50 AM
– Senior Girl All-Stars 5K (following Open Race) – Approximately 11:15 AM
– Senior Boy All-Stars 5K (following Girls Race) – Approximately 11:40 AM
– Awards for All-Stars & Open Race (follows Boys Race)

COACHES REGISTRATION PROCESS

REGISTRATION FOR 2018 is now CLOSED. Please enter the open race.

NOTE: You can use the last column that says TFRRS.   In that column, please type an E or W for East or West team and then a dash to indicate t-shirt and uniform size; S,M,L, or XL.  Examples:  W-M meaning West team and medium t-shirt and uniform; E-L meaning East team and large uniform..

Acceptance Criteria

  1. Must Be a Senior
  2. Established time (A meet Result Confirmation is required):
    • Men: 17:50 and Below as a SENIOR
    • Women: 21:50 and Below as a SENIOR
  3. Must Have Completed the Cross Country in good team standing and be in good standing with his/her High School prior to All-Star Meet Saturday.

Confirmation of the Time Requirement
All meet results should be (have been) sent to the IATC for posting. Please make sure the time you are using when you enter an athlete is verifiable.

Meet Director

We welcome John Brostad (jbrostad@slcsd.org) as our new meet director. John has coached 141 seasons with 71 of those as a head coach; 31 CC, 33 track, and 7 as girls’ tennis with 35 at some level of boys’ or girls’ basketball from MS to assistant varsity, 34 years of softball as assistant varsity or freshman coach and one year of MS track. John and his wife have 3 sons which include a set of twins who were 4 sport athletes.

Dates and Deadlines

All On-line registrations will close Monday, October 29, 2018.

NOTE: Those Athletes not registered before October 29th deadline will need to run the “Open Race”.

Regions

The state is divided into two regions separated by I-35. To even out the regions we also use Hwy 65/5 by pass on the east of Des Moines included in the cut off. Des Moines Schools and West Des Moines schools are included in the west region. See the map below.

All-Star Runner Information

  • All Runners must be Checked in at the Course between 9:30 & 10:30 am.
  • At check-in each runner will receive a meet T-Shirt, Uniform and Race Number
  • Uniforms Will Be Checked in following the competition or may be purchased for $18
  • All-Star Runners will meet with their All-Star Coaches for instructions and information concerning uniform Dressing areas at check-in

Driving Directions

Driving Direction From the North

Travel I-35 south to Ankeny.  Exit at (Exit 90 on right) to SE Oralabor Road/Country Road F38/Ia-160W.  Continue west (approximately 1.3 miles) through the Hwy 69 intersection.  Continue west to the South Entrance to the DMACC Campus.  Exit onto DMACC BLVD.  Keep left as you enter the campus. Athlete and spectator Parking will be directly
ahead.   The competition course will be just West of the parking lot.


Driving Direction From the South

Travel I-35 north to Ankeny.  Exit at (Exit 90 on right) to SE Oralabor Road/Country Road F38/Ia-160W.  Continue west (approximately 1.3 miles) through the Hwy 69 intersection.  Continue west to the South Entrance to the DMACC Campus.  Exit onto DMACC BLVD.  Keep left as you enter the campus.  Athlete and spectator Parking will be directly
